Sainsburys bring out purple veg...

Following the successful launch of purple potatoes last year, Sainsbury’s is to launch a range of purple vegetables in time for Halloween.
Purple potato wedges, pointed purple cabbage and purple carrots are some of the Halloween-themed food on offer.

While offering all the benefits normally found in fresh vegetables, these deep purple varieties are free from artificial colours and additives.(http://www.fdin.org.uk/ 03/09/2011)

I think these potatoes are a fantastic idea! What kid doesn't want to eat something that looks freaky! I know I would have eaten them as a child! I have only ever seen purple fruit, and then red cabbage and aubergines, that were purple in colour, and not many kids want to eat cabbage! With Sainsbury's introducing these at Halloween it allows parents to give their kids something different on that day, but still tastes the same as a normal potato.
